Chris has been a member of the A-1 Team since 2001 and purchased the company from its founder, John Nye, in 2023. We are excited to build upon the solid foundation of exceptional service established over the past 45 years. Our management team and the entire company recognize that we are "riding on the shoulders of giants" due to our strong track record with customers and the high standards set by previous generations. Chris brings a lifetime of experience in the Household Goods Industry, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Transportation and Logistics Supply Chain Management. He is also a multiple-year winner of the Atlas Professional Van Operator Customer Service Award. In his free time, Chris enjoys cooking with his children and taking them on adventures in the woods or fields, or out on the dusty trail in his big rig. He is known for saying, "I have backed up more than most drivers have driven forward!"

Alissa has been part of A-1's team for the past 7 years and has an additional 10 years of experience in the accounting field. With her Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting, she plays a crucial role in keeping our operations running smoothly throughout the year. Much of the work necessary to maintain our operations happens behind the scenes. In her free time, Alissa enjoys spending time with her family and children, and she loves taking trips across the country with Chris and family in the truck. She often says, "If we cannot find a way to service your shipment needs, we'll make one!"

A proud native of Superior, Chase attended grade school through college and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a degree in Business Administration. What began as a summer job in high school to earn a little extra money turned into a lifelong career. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time at A-1 Movers over the past 10 years in the industry. He is primarily responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and dispatching both interstate and local shipments. He looks forward to assisting clients with their future relocation needs! "Some jobs have an off-season; ours doesn't."

Born and raised in the Twin Ports area, Paul has lived there most of his life and raised his family in the community. With over 40 years of experience in Sales and Sales Management, he began his career in the Moving and Relocation industry 24 years ago. He has managed Sales and Operations in the Twin Cities, North Dakota, Chicago, and the Twin Ports. This industry has allowed him the privilege of meeting fascinating individuals with diverse backgrounds, histories, hobbies, and stories. A-1 Movers is dedicated to exceeding their customers' expectations!

Steve has worked in the transportation industry for his entire 40-year career. Most of that time was spent as an over-the-road operator, traveling the highways of this great country. He is looking forward to finishing out his career and is ready to ease into retirement once the Vikings win the Super Bowl! This means he still has some mileage left in him!

Garrett is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, specializing in Transportation and Logistics. With three years of experience in household goods logistics, he is eager to assist you in coordinating and implementing your upcoming relocation. Remember, "Price is what you pay; value is what you get!"

Rick works the tires off his rig to keep his customers informed and on schedule. If he can't plan it, drive it, or coordinate it, then no one can! Rick is a 2024 Customer Service Award winner and a multiple year Safe Driver Award Winner. With over 20 years of experience in handling household goods, he is a valued member of our team. A perfect day off for him involves a BBQ with his family and watching a UT game. Go Longhorns! As he says, "A good mover isn't cheap, and a cheap mover isn't good!"

Adrian dedicates his time away from family to ensure customer satisfaction from point A to point B. With 10 years of experience in the household goods business, he is a driving force in making sure his crews deliver excellent service, resulting in satisfied customers. On his days off, he loves spending time with his kids and going fishing at the lake. His motto is, "Making smiles for miles while safely operating my rig down the road!"

Mr. Laporte and his wife, Terri, enjoy their time on the road as an over-the-road team. With more than 45 years of dedicated service in household goods moving, primarily with A-1 Movers and Atlas Van Lines, they have built a strong reputation. A good day for the Laportes often involves spending time with family, whether in their garden or out in the woods hunting for a good meal. "There isn't a nook or cranny of this country that they haven't seen at least once!"

Bob's 24 years of service in the Army has taught him great discipline and respect over his Military career which in turn is applied in his 40 plus years in the household goods industry. Bob uses the same attention to detail in keeping the 100,000's of pounds of furniture and commercial truckloads that cross our dock each year organized. He and his warehouse team efficiently help to coordinate the safe keeping and documented various needs of our customer's at our storage facilities. "We pack em, stack em, rack em and are careful not to bend or crack em!"
